So three weeks ago yesterday we welcomed our little angel into the world. Talk about the most amazing experience ever.
Early Monday morning, the 25th, I started having contractions. I wasn't sure if they were the real thing or not, but they persisted all day long, and around 4 o'clock they were coming about every five to seven minutes. We waited as long as I could (I am ashamed to say we had to finish the episode of the Bachelor before we left for the hospital). After an hour of monitoring me, unfortunately nothing had changed, so they gave me a shot of morphine and sent me home. That was the longest night ever. I couldn't sleep because the contractions were too painful, but I didn't want to go to the hospital again just to have them send me home. So I watched the clock hour by hour waiting till I thought I must be dilated far enough for them to take me. So once again we left at 8:30 a.m. and I prayed that I wouldn't be sent home!! And sure enough they let me stay!
After waiting through most the day it finally came time for her to come. Aaron was shocked, they had him help me push during contractions while the nurse ran to get the doctor. . . haha talk about a crazy experience. But after 40 or so minutes she was here!!! Weighing 6 lbs 12 ounces and measuring 20 inches long. I just can't explain the feeling of seeing the doctor lift her up and exclaim how petite she was!! It was so amazing to see her for the first time, to finally put a little face to those few months of little punches and kicks. And not to mention we were shocked that she had a full head of super dark brown hair!! lol, absolutely adorable, but unexplainable lol (Aaron and I were both bald as babies).
And now 3 weeks later, I can't believe how much we have grown to love this little girl! Everyday she wraps us even tighter around her little fingers with her coos, smiles, and even sad cries. We are just so excited to be parents to such a perfect little doll!
